Wolter Power Systems Donates to WCTC's Diesel Equipment Tech Program
Wolter, Inc., fornerly Wolter Power Ssystems, donated equipment valued at $15,000 to Waukesha County Technical College to be used by students in the Diesel Equipment Technology associate degree program.
The equipment includes an industrial Generac diesel generator (20KW fully functioning and equipped with enclosure and self-contained fuel tank) as well as two air-cooled Generac engines. Wolter Power is also providing technicians and trainers to assist with classroom activities and learning workshops, along with product and theory training materials to be used in the classroom.
Wolter is committed to helping educate and train those interested in working in the trades, and this donation is a reflection of that commitment, said Dan Peters, general manager of Wolter Power Systems.
“We geared the donation to support the class curriculum/development around the Diesel Equipment Technology program. With further discussions and meetings with Mr. (Mike) Shiels (dean of WCTC’s School of Applied Technologies) we found interest and common ground with the equipment donated and the synergies with other programs within the applied technologies area,” Peters said. “From electrical apprentice, residential electrical trades and automation programs, Wolter Inc understands the importance of keeping our young Wisconsin workforce engaged in industry and the skilled trades.”
Donations of modern, cutting-edge equipment strengthen our programs and give students a technical advantage, Shiels added.
“We are grateful to Wolter for their generous donation of engines & standby generator to be used by our program students. This is the very equipment students will work on in industry, and to have exposure to this kind of technology before entering the workforce is a great benefit to them,” he said.
