Meet the Smartphone-inspired Generator Controller
Almost everyone has a smartphone, and now end-users can avail themselves of a similar user experience with the new Power Zone® controller that makes interaction with a generator more intuitive.
The controller:
- Provides a large touch-screen that uses easy-to-understand icons — green for ready or operating normally and a large yellow icon to indicate potential problems.
- Allows ease of navigation with scrolling to move though status and information screens.
- Is the first industrial gen-set control platform on the market with built-in Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, LAN and Webserver, putting monitoring and control within easy reach of any mobile device or PC.
- Provides quick and immediate access to critical generator and engine parameters.
- Integrates remote monitoring so users can connect Power Zone to their building management system and set up an email box. The controller can then send them emails for alarms, warnings, or status.
- Regulates Generac’s Modular Power System (MPS) paralleling configurations. Communication between generators is performed with an industry-first redundant Ethernet. Other features include paralleling control (synchronizing), reverse power, loss of synchronization between gen-sets and load and VAR sharing. A permissive and load-shed assembly is available for MPS applications to sequence multiple transfer switches.
The Power Zone controller is now available on the company’s new 625 kW gaseous gen-set, its largest gaseous-fueled node to date.
Available in single-set or MPS configurations, the 625 kW unit is designed for demand response applications as well as emergency standby for data centers, commercial and industrial facilities, health care applications, infrastructure projects, and more.
