Generac’s Modular Power System (MPS) is a combination of the industry’s most reliable generators and state-of-the-art integrated paralleling technology. The standard in the industry for a number of years was to provide a single generator set solution.

Paralleled generator solutions are generally only used in large data centers or hospital applications in conjunction with expensive paralleling switch-gear; providing the owner with redundancy not included in a single generator set solution. This is a common practice in solutions above 1000kW where redundancy is desired but traditionally comes with a high price tag.

Generac Modular Paralleled Solutions (MPS) remove the high price tag, providing the paralleling functions integral to the generator set design. By eliminating the expensive paralleling switch-gear, we can offer a customer numerous combinations of generators or a single-engine solution to fit the application in the most economical and functional way.

For applications with multiple transfer switches, an MPS solution provides three levels of load management, thus inherent redundancy to the critical loads. Additionally, MPS solutions provide the customer with the ability to add future generators to the system as they expand their business.

Flexibility

MPS sets are small enough to fit into spaces that could not accommodate a larger unit and are light enough for rooftop applications.  As MPS modules do not have to be installed physically together, space can be better utilized.  Also, the space required for switch-gear and large external panel boards can be eliminated.

Serviceability

By the use of highly reliable, large volume smaller engines, MPS units are easy to service by qualified technicians. Maintenance items and replacement parts are less expensive and readily available.
